Love this post… Winter Solstice has arrived… hibernation and hunker down seem to be the daily theme around here… crock pot dishes, daily oven offerings, and stuffing the pantry as full as we can…. working on self and relationships in dark and quiet times plants the seeds for an amazing gardens come spring… so excited about the mushrooms and the farmers markets!… Are you thinking of setting up a booth at the Ferry Building in SF?… Stay warm and hug sweet Justice for us… – Jessica
Holy smokes! Small town, small world. I met you today. Shaun and I were on an exploration walk (some might consider it more of a good, neighborly trespassing). I realize now that you are Lukka’s friend too.
I moved up here last March to take over as head caretaker on a property up the road – covertly known as Felta Farms. It is a brand new estate – with a very young garden. I recently planted 7000 spring bulbs last fall and am in the midst of developing about 12,000 sqft. of edible gardens and cut flower gardens.

Hi there. Kirsten and I are fans from way back when we visited your winery. We’re also trying to pay more attention to where our food comes from, a habit which started when we began to homebrew our beer. I’ll tell you, it’s not that easy in New York City, even with the farmers’ markets.
At any rate, we recently decided to try to make our own cheese. It was a neat piece of serendipity when we found a straggler bottle of your ‘06 Zin on Broadway and Astor the very day we decided to try our first aged homemade cheese, a 7-week farmhouse cheddar. Your wine was better than our cheese, but we’re undaunted and will continue, next time with raw milk from Pennsylvania.
