Farm life is queasy some of the time. Our first lesson was that if we intend to eat meat, we must raise it ourselves. I cried the day our pigs were slaughtered, but I watched and felt compassion for the life and what it means to eat meat. I knew these pigs, and I spent much time sitting with them giving them treats and scratching their ears. Every time I pull out a parcel from my chest freezer I thank them for what they gave to us. As for the bees and my son. He was safe. If you have ever been around a swarm they are actually very safe, I put my hands right into the ball of bees knowing that I would not get stung. So details... Farm life is queasy some of the time. Our first lesson was that if we intend to eat meat, we must raise it ourselves. I cried the day our pigs were slaughtered, but I watched and felt compassion for the life and what it means to eat meat. I knew these pigs, and I spent much time sitting with them giving them treats and scratching their ears. Every time I pull out a parcel from my chest freezer I thank them for what they gave to us. As for the bees and my son. He was safe. If you have ever been around a swarm they are actually very safe, I put my hands right into the ball of bees knowing that I would not get stung. So details...
